Huawei Telecom, China based mobile and telecom equipment major, announced to launch a new low cost Android based smartphone in India – IDEOS. It is a new handset of the company.
Huawei Ideos will run on the latest iteration of Android 2.2 which is also known as “Froyo” also. The phone has 2.8-inch touchscreen display and 3.2 mega pixel camera. The camera comes with brightness, proximity and accelerometer sensors. The phone is powered by a 528 MHz processor also.
Huawei Ideos provides a variety of ways to access the Internet. It has downlink speeds of more than 7.2Mb/s. It supports UMTS/WCDMA + WiFi dual network. The phone offers ubiquitous mobile broadband services.
Huawei Ideos gadget doubles as a WiFi router for up to eight devices at a time. The phone has a wide range of wireless connectivity options.
Huawei Ideos mobile is available in black, yellow, blue, and purple colours. It comes with Android 2.2 pre-installed. It runs fast as well as it supports functions such as voice dialing, voice navigation and the ability to run applications off the SD card.
Huawei Ideos mobile phone provides a wide range of communication, entertainment, office and financial management applications. Connectivity options of the phone also include Bluetooth and navigation (GPS) support.
Huawei Ideos phone will be available in Indian market by November 2010. Expected price of the phone in Indian market is Rs. 5600.
Kevin Tao who is the CEO of Huawei Device said, “We are proud to have already achieved our goal from early 2010 of developing a US$150 smartphone with an excellent user experience. The IDEOS is an affordable option, designed to lower barriers to entry to allow easy mobile Internet access.”
So, the phone has already gotten a very good response by its users. It is an affordable phone with a good design and latest technology. Looks of the phone is very similar to LG Cookie Zip.
